Recent Community Blooms

With an amazing gift from Teresa R. of Lodi, NJ we assembled and shared another 10 floral arrangements with the very special residents at Brandywine Nursing Home in Howell, NJ.

We appreciate the wonderful support!

Blooming Buddies was founded in 2026. Our mission is simple. We provide fresh flowers grown by our local community members to share with those who are going through a difficult time to let them know that they are thought of by someone who they may never have met but who understands that life can be difficult.   By taking the time to personally plant, care for and prepare flowers for delivery, we remember that the recipient is someone who needs comfort. We are reminded of how easy it can be to care for each other when it matters most.

Our Mission

Our Gardens

Our neighbors have been so generous with Blooming Buddies, and have made this mission possible. These are a few of the gardens that have been started to help us reach more people in need of comfort.

Community Roots

No garden is too small. Whatever you grow, we will pick up and prepare for delivery to one our  churches, hospitals, nursing homes and local food pantries.  We are currently focusing on the Monmouth County community but hope to expand our efforts through partnerships.

Local Initiatives

We truly appreciate and value all our community members who help to blossom Blooming Buddies into a community grown project.

Our Story

Blooming Buddies was inspired by my grandfather, Maximiliano Junchaya, and my grandmother, Carol Jenssen. They were the most selfless and loving people I have ever known. They both passed away after very short battles with cancer within a year of each other. After both their losses there was so much sadness in our home, but when a bouquet of flowers arrived, we smiled.  I will never forget the power those flowers had in bringing us comfort. We knew others loved them and care for them.

I want Blooming Buddies to represent what they were: kind, considerate, and inspiring. One of my grandparents' greatest gifts were their ability to bring people together. There is no better way to honor our loved ones than uniting for a cause that brings comfort to those who need it.
